Mckellars specialise in creating bespoke pieces of jewellery designed especially for you. Whether we are creating a unique one-off engagement ring that represents your individual dreams and taste or remodelling a cherished sentimental jewel, Annie and Alison will personally design and create a piece which represents you and your unique style.

The Creative Process

Everything starts with you. Each project starts with a chat with either Annie or Alison, in person or via phone or email - whichever is the most convenient for you - and together you will discuss your initial ideas.

Throughout the creative process you can be as involved as you want to be, it maybe that you already have some ideas or even a design, or perhaps you have a stone or style in mind. Alternatively you may not be sure what you want, or that what you want is even possible. Whatever your starting point, we will guide you through the process, making sure that together we can create and capture the special essence of what you would like to achieve. 

Sometimes we will draw sketches at first and as the designs are refined, we will render accurately scaled photo-realistic images and 3D models, so that you can be confident about the special piece of jewellery that you will receive.

Handcrafting Individuality

Once the design is finalised a 50% deposit will be taken to allow orders to be placed for the materials and stones that will make your individual piece.

We will then begin handcrafting your jewellery using techniques of traditional goldsmithing in concert with the precision made possible by modern technology. Your bespoke piece will be presented to you approximately 4-8 weeks after you have approved the final design.

At Mckellars we are passionate about creating unique, beautifully crafted bespoke jewellery. Mckellars pieces are made to the highest standard and will last for generations. Each piece comes beautifully packaged along with an insurance valuation document. In the future you will always be welcome to have your bespoke jewellery cleaned and checked at no additional cost.
